    Our Recipes

    Cape May French Toast


    1 loaf French bread (day old)
    1 cup milk
    cup light brown sugar
    cup Half & Half
    cup dark brown sugar
    5 large eggs
    1 stick butter
    1 tsp. vanilla

    In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugars until blended. Pour sugar mixture into 13 x 9 baking pan and spread evenly.
    Slice bread in slices and arrange in pan over the sugar mixture.
    Mix remaining ingredients and pour over bread. Let set overnight in refrigerator.
    Bake in 300 degree oven for 50 minutes.
    Remove from oven and sprinkle top with 10x sugar.


    Baked Oatmeal


    cup butter, melted
    3 cups quick oats
    1 cup light brown sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 tsp. salt
    1 cup milk
    cup raisins (optional)

    In large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar and eggs. Add oats, baking powder, salt and milk to mixture; mix well. Bake in 9 x 13 pan at 350 degree for 20 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
    Serve in cut squares with fresh fruit.
    (Can be made the night before and warmed before serving.)


    Microwave Pears, Cranberries and Almonds


    4 ripe pears, peeled, cored and halved
    3 T. maple syrup
    1 T. dried cranberries
    3 oz. almond slivers

    Place the peeled, cored and halved pears into a microwaveable dish. Place them cut side down. Scatter the dried cranberries over the pears. Pour 2 T. of the Maple syrup over the pears and cranberries and cover with microwaveable cling film. Microwave on High for 3 minutes until softened. Uncover and add Maple syrup if needed. Spoon pears into serving dishes, stir and divide the syrup and cranberries among the dishes. Sprinkle top of each pear with Almond slivers. Serve warm.
